Red marks

i have a friend who has long red marks on his arms, i saw it cause his locker is next to mine when we change for gym, but he usualy wears a hoodie to cover it up... he didnt say anything when i asked about it, is their some sort of disease with a side effect like that or do you think he was just cutting himself or what?

straight lines across his arm, it was weird

they could be self mutilation scars. however if he was leaning on seomthing prior it could cause the same affect, or if he scratched his arm cuz he was itchy.

I wouldnt jump to any conclusions, but if hes a good friend of yours, talk to him.
with my own marks... all i want is to hide them- wish them away... but at the same time... i want someone to see them... so they talk to me... without thinking im a freak or have a mental problem... if youre not good friends with him- you should bring it up with HIS friends.... its important... if he's in the early stages-- please help him before he gets too deep.

i would talk to him about it if you two are close. But i once asked my friend about some marks that look like scars she has and she told me i was being annoying so yeah... i'd do it gently and kindly :) x

If you are concerened, just tell him that and you want to make sure he is alright, but make sure that you do it gentley as most people who SH dont like people to know about it.
