Gay-Straight Alliance?

I really want to join the GSA at my school, but I was wondering what they do. They weren't listed in the clubs pamphlet, so I don't know.

Are you sure your school has one? If it wasnt in the clubs pamphlet, then your school may not even have one. My school doesnt.

Well I saw posters for it last year, and we had a pretty organized day of silence. It wasn't in the clubs pamphlet last year either.

My college has one called Outreach, but so far, it doesn't seem as if any meetings have been scheduled. However, I can give you a brief overview about what I'm to expect out of this GSA.

- Inform people about National Coming Out Day (October 11)
- Break down stereotypes surrounding LGBT people.
- Create a network of friends and support within the community.
- We do a Safe Sex week, but I'm not sure if it will be this year, too.
- Discuss heterosexism
- Day of Silence
- I believe we also throw a carnival of some sort, or a film festival. Not sure about this one.

That's all I've been told for now, so.....yeah.
