Guys in speedos?

Swim briefs, speedos, whatever you want to call them, what are the criteria in your opinion for a guy to wear them. MAYBE at the beach, but mainly if you went to like a pool. Like at a hotel, public, etc.

I have a speedo from Swim Team and was thinking about using it in other places because I just can't go back to board shorts. The board shorts feel too funny and baggy for me. I know that I'll probably wear like short swim trunks for the beach so as to not be too 'revealing', but what about like at a pool or something?

I guess they're okay for at a pool, but still... I haven't met anyone that LIKES those. I think they look tacky, the only people I've seen wearing them are old men. o_o

I think if you're comfortable in Speedos...and they make you feel sexy or better about yourself...what the hell? Wear them!

I have a friend on the swim team (BO) and he's like HUGE (don't go there...LOL) and it's a little hard...LOL (don't go there, either) for him to "conceal" his...whatever...but he's required to wear them - in Competition.

When we swim at his house, he always wears jammers or boards.

Wear what you're in the mood for that day, and screw what anyone else thinks. They're probably just jealous anyway.

I think that they are ok to wear to the pool and the beach depending on the person. But if you feel comfortable wearing them in those places then who cares. It's your body.

They are just swimsuits. Becoming more popular where I live too. Nothing wrong with them at all. My parents buy all my clothes including speedos - actually we have a swimsuit shop near me and they usually buy TY suits - different brand same style. Have two brothers who wear them as well. hard for me to wear those baggie boardies, just too much material. The swimsuits I wear are the briefs not the jammer type.

In all honesty, I think they are only OK for swim team. A couple of the guys on my team were speedos, but most of us wear jammers/drag suits.

speedos are great on a hot guy (and i hope you dont mind me saying your avatar is well buff so if that is you ... omg do it.) on old fat guys ... meh, but why are you looking at them anway?
In france last summer the public pool in St Aignan didn't allow baggies you had to wear speedos and apparently thats the same all over. I think they swim a lot more there because all the locals were fit, and when some (other) uk tourists showed up i was totally embarassed to be english.
usually we get a private pool on holiday where we don't have to wear anything, which rocks ;-)

Personally I find them really gross, but you can't go by other people's opinions of them.
If you like them and feel comfortable in it then that should be all that matters.

Like Paul said above, in much of France shorts arent allowed in public pools, you have to wear speedos. I think they look great!

I wouldn't wear them but I don't have the body to wear that amount of clothes.

If you feel comfortable enough to wear them then go ahead, knock yourself out. Screw what anyone else thinks, if you like wearing them anywhere (appropriate).

i also have a speedo, i don't wear it that often unless i'm swimming for excersise...if i'm just going to the beach or to the pool to have fun i put on trunks....but you should wear it where ever you are comfortable

Speedos innapropriate? Most little kids I see are wearing them themselves. I'm really confused.

i think that if you wore them and your friends wore them too then you would feel more comfortable, but i think shorter swimsuits will come into fashion in america soonish

yeah theyre good especially on cut ripped teens with six apcks thats the whole sensation of speedos and if you wear one take
a pic and show virtual teen its ok to wear speedos with your bod speedos are okay excluding old guys wearing them thts horrible

Yeah no... Unless you in water Polo or something just stick to board shorts. Im like always at the beach and I HATE when guys where speedos. I mean who are they?? The new Ed Hardy designs for board shorts are amazing!

If I had a great body with awesome abs and great lower body, I'd be rocking swimming trunks all day everyday. If you're talking about the speedos as in those tiny briefs, then maybe keeping them for the swim meet? There are types of board shorts, that are cut much shorter and with less material around the crotch area. I used to swim a lot and when I grew up and tried wearing boardshorts, I felt more uncomfortable than with swim trunks

How about wearing the speedo under your boardshorts? That way you get the feeling of the speedo.

A speedo by itself would be ok I think at a pool but be ready for some serious stares.

I personally wouldnt wanna see a guy in a speedo out in public. But if it was me and him alone. I'd like it .... if that makes sense

for swim team, its fine. guys need that kind of hydrodynamicness ( dont think thats a word, but it should suffice) considering the leg hair factor. outside of practice, meh. pretty hot, just unnecessary...? its great if you have the self esteem to flaunt yourself that way, but there are some things people just dont need to see.

I wear speedos, i was on a swim team so thats one of the main reasons, but i wear speedos to swimming pools and the beach, so wear them where you feel comfortable

I see nothing wrong with wearing Speedos. As long as you've got the figure / body for it. I don't think old men or fat guys should be wearing them. Or hairy guys for that matter either. I use to wear a Speedo when I did swim team. They were black and dark blue. As long as they aren't some weird color like pink or white, then you should be fine with them. Whatever you feel comfortable in. I wore my Speedo a few times at the pool, and yeah I got a few looks, but people were just like whatever. Its whatever you are comfortable in. You are there to swim, not be in a fashion contest.
