I'm currently doing one and I usually hate doing them. Anyone else agree?

You mean like selling some stupid item door-to-door? Yeah. And kids selling door-to-door aint what it used to be. I hear that folks would buy from you stuff they didnt want just to help out. Just cuz you were cute. Back in the old days.
Now if you mean some club putting on a party, a dinner, something fun then thats different. Id be glad to work on it (not the planning or the begging though) and volunteer my labor.
For those of us that are homeschooled, we need to look for opportunities to get out and mix. Without sports or church, you have to plan these things. Volunteer work is a good choice, you meet the right kind of people.

Well my school has a Yankee Candle fundraiser...that nobody does because there's a Yankee Candle store 4 miles away. Those things smell amazing. :)

But the fundraiser that people do take part is the Christmas one with gift wrap and junk.

I hated selling chocolate, it's annoying to carry around that box and get bum-rushed by people with a sweet-tooth in the hallways. That's why I always give it to my mom to sell at work :)
