i saw a movie called Kids yesturday about modern NYC teenagers and their drug / sex / physical abuse to themselves and eachother. Do you think teenagers are temporarily bad people... is it modern teenagers.... or have teenagers always been rebelious and therefore causing them to engage in harmful activities and things of that nature?

Part of being a teenager is realizing that adults aren't perfect, you've been lied to by them in the past, and you'd rather do things your own way. This has been the case ever since the 20th century.

It's just that you saw a movie about the bad ones. There are some good ones you know! (Like me :D)
I don't smoke, I don't do drugs, I don't drink, I have a positive self-image, and I don't want to have sex until I am married.
The only thing I am addicted to is the INTERNET. =0

It's only a minority of teenagers who are actually crazy in the ways you described. They come from unstable families and murky neighborhoods, the same can be found in any age group. Most teens like us here on VT are responsible, mature and can tell what's right from what's wrong.
I do believe, however, that teenagers are naturally rebellious. It's how each one of us handles it that differs.

When you're a teenager you start to develop your own mind, and you think apart from your parents for a change, so in some ways you become rebellious. Some teenagers are more rebellious than others, so they get into dangerous situations and don't behave as well as others. But that's not to say that all teenagers are overly rebellious. Some will go against rules and laws more than others will, which to me is pretty obvious.

There are always going to be people, from all age groups, who are drawn to things/behaviours that are deemed by others to be bad, offensive, unhealthy etc etc. It is not isolated to teenagers alone.
I'm of the opinion that we are no worse than the generation before us. It is just that perspectives and attitudes change over time.

Teenagers have always been rebellious.
I think that today, its definatly exagerated in the media.
But not all teenagers follow the rebellious stereotype.
