hey guys, im hoping to get a new laptop this christmas, and i was wondering weather to go for a MacBook or just a regular laptop, i quite like the features of the MacBook (http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/61084001/wo/Va7UXnBRDFw02nRSaiHPgA0UnCz/2.?p=0)

My uncle has god a MacBook Pro and i really like it, i just want to know if the MacBook is any good compared to a regular laptop. i iwll only use it for internet and IM'ing really.. and a few other things.

edit: plus does anyone know if there are any places that sell them any cheaper?

Go with a normal one so you can put linux on it and do extreme wardriving.

Mac VS XP is a really touchy subject. It really comes down to the user. Mac's usually cost more to repair because of proprietary parts. XP gets viruses. Theres more software for XP.

its probally best just to go for a normal laptop, i would love a MacBook but its pretty expensive. I'll have a look on the net and try and persuade my dad to get me one, hes seen one that he wants for about £500 and i could put £150 towards my own one.

Tbh andy, if you're going to get a Mac laptop, you should get a good one i.e. MacBook Pro. My one is pretty nice, http://store.apple.com/Apple/WebObjects/ukstore.woa/6034041/wo/e83y6724ybE738f2PjH2HmkuEdr/2.?p=0 , it's expensive but a bloody nice laptop. Lol, i remeber you showing me that other one on msn, and tbh i'd have a mac over that any day :P.

Oh, and if you want prices in pound sterling off of the Apple website store, go on www.apple.com/uk (the UK version).
