One Nation, Under None

There is a hope that some of us share, of having one nation on earth, united by peace and prosperity. no money, no greed, no weapons except by police and hunters), no disease, no conflict. Basically John Lennons Imagine. Anyone have any positive or negative thoughts about this? I just want to get htis out of the way NOW absolutly NO insults or arguments on this thread, please

sorry i find that idea a bit off putting. i would hate to live as one nation. i am Irish and i love my country, and i love how we are different. and i would hate to have us as one nation. peace would be nice though.

I understand completely. By all means, your patriotism is respectable. having one nation is more like saying breaking down all the barriers seperating us, one nation, such as the united states, having trillions upon trillions of dollars, while some contries, like in africa and south america, have less than 5 billion as a whole country. and how we must declare whole wars against whole other countries when its just 1 in every several hundred people fighting. We can find away to do away with the bad, War, Wealth/poverty, bad politics, etc, and keep the good, seperate but equal cultures, language, peace, etc. Although its a long shot, its a goal worth aiming for, IMO

Ya.. if all of us joined.. it would be non-diverse.. but besides "being one nation" all of the peace and health would be good.

MAYBE once we've actually begun to explore space and colanize other planets in the solar system and beyond we'll realise how small earth really is and then maybe but i cant see anything like that happening anywhere near my life time

Lets lay this out.
-Humans are humans, no matter where, or how they are living.
-Humans aren't perfect, they have hate, can be tricked into beleving lies, and lots of other things.

If a system is to include humans, then the system as a whole can't be perfect. A system can't fix humans, it can usualy controll them, but bend to perfect human nature it can not do.

If humans were capable of living together and being totaly peace full, then they would have to be perfect, but unfortunately we aren't. So we must find the "lesser of all evils" and chose that.

I think its a bad idea...
Humans are humans, and nothing is going to change them... most of these humans (most, for about 90%) live only because they want more money, power, and be above everyone else...
No matter what, there will always be this kind of people.. just imagine, I'm studying in history, the prehistoric, and even then, there were assholes who wanted all the power for themselves... they were never happy with what they had, and they wanted more, and more...

The other reason, would be that, there will still be wars... haven't you ever heard of civil wars?? wouldn't it be the same?? there would still be different races, religions, people different than other, with different thoughts, and perspectives of live... there will still be politics, which NOW, is what is destroying the world, because these people don't agree on how these other govern, so a civil war starts... then, these other people try to look this kind of government ridiculos, stupid, with no sence, and not fair...... there would still be thousands of problems, AND MAYBE EVEN MORE... just think.. I'm guessing this one, but I'm not sure if you mean it or not... anyways, there would be only ONE person who will govern the world... I don't think most people will like that... so they will start another war, v.s the actual president (no matter what) because they also want some power, and they will give anything to it... and the power and money part comes again.....

A question:

Why would we live in one same country?? what would it help for?? in what way?? just wondering...



In other words..... I don't think it will ever happen..

well, trust me, I don't think that if one person wanted the power, they wouldn't be little dumbasses, and go do it by themselves... they would have people who follow them, and trust them and this person who wants power, would promise them exactly what they wanted... money and power... why hasn't anyone out of the million of people who hate bush to death, killed him?? or, let me give you an example of my own that I lived... why hasn't anyone killed Chavez venezuelan president if there's so many people who hate him?? because they have followers, and these people will do almost anything to protect them... think about Fidel Castro... he's a fucking idiot, who has made out of cuba a missery, but there's still people who follow them... I don't know if you ever saw that video where he falls, and in matter of miliseconds everyone's running up to him like little thirsty dogs... it looked pathetic, but thats what they beleive...

Ohh yeah, and the money thing, and the apple, and orange thing... I don't think it would ever work... the world turn because of money... so, I don't think anyone would ever give it up...

It has happened many times that one man (almost always a man 4 some reason) can take over a country with the ppl's support, think Napoleon, Hitler... ect. If the whole world was one country, then couldn't someone take over that?

-there are always going to be ppl that want power
-there will always be greedy ppl

no matter how large ur country, ur type of gov, or how u were raised, these will hold true. The whole C-A theory goes against human nature, it doesn't make sense.
