There has been something that has been really annoying for a while now. All the damn guys (girls too, but mostly guys) wear Abercombie & Fitch/Hollister/American Eagle/Aeropostale!!!! They all look the same!! It just gets me so mad, they look down on people who dress differently, it's so stupid..
What happened to the days where most people whore diverse and unique clothes? What happened to REAL style? It gets me so annoyed!!! Hopefully this will end sometime in the near future. I just wanna see people who express themselves, not people faking and following a trend. It was okay when few people wore those things, but now it's a fucking epidemic..WE MUST BE SAVED FROM THIS!!!

Ah....like cell phones and blackberries aren't an "equal" epidemic?
We truly have become a "rubber stamp" society.
We're also becoming a welfare state, because that's found a new level of popularity.
People CON for a living, STEAL for a living, commit FRAUD for a living, SUE for a living...and yes...VOTE..for a living.
What's the missing element in this?
I believe it's called...yes....WORKING...for a living.
I believe with the "mentality" we have in this country right now, we'll be the biggest WELFARE COUNTRY on the face of the planet by 2050. We already owe China more money than we can PRINT; let alone actually REPAY!
And that "thinking" begins...with people ALL WANTING TO LOOK ALIKE.

I don't really see the harm in people wearing those clothes, if they want to look just like Joe Blow beside them, I'm not going to stop them.
Doesn't mean I like their clothes, though.

If people want to "Go with the flow" and rock out what they want to rock out then that is their problem. It doesn't stop me from wearing different or flashy clothes that are completely different than theirs. It's not an "epidemic" as you put it as more of a trend. As all of them do, that brand will go out and a new will present itself. It's just been "IN" longer or you have just not noticed what has been "IN". As I said that Abercrombie/Aeropostale/Hollister trend may or may not go out soon, but in time it will. I know I get sick and tired of seeing it as it is far from my flavor of style, but it will eventually :P

It's not new.. people have almost always dressed the same as eachother.. it's fashion, people follow it.
Though I must say Abercrombie, American Eagle, and all those companies are on the lower end of fashion.. But even though I don't like it, there's nothing terrible about it.
Don't judge a book by it's cover; just because you dress like a robot doesn't mean you are one. And just because you dress original doesn't mean you're not a robot.
In the end it's all cloth, does it truly matter if they don't express much through their clothing? So what if they follow trends? It's what humans do.

For the people questioning me about it, the reason why it's a big deal for me is because just about EVERY guy in my school wears those brands shirts, with the brand name written across them, and their cargo shorts. Every day. It's gets annoying. The reason why it matters is because I like to hang around people who are just more different, like, what they wear, kinda relates to their personality, and it seems like everyone (in my school) is just the same now, in every way. Last year it wasn't as bad, but over the summer, most of they guys came back wearing those clothes. My friends totally changed who they hang out with and their personality (towards me at least), along with wearing those clothes.
I guess the reason why it annoys me is more of people thinking they have to be "cool", so they change what they wear, along with the way they act. Oh and btw, it's not really a problem with girls in my school... only some wear it.
Oh yeah, ONE more thing, this is pretty important. They wear those brands, yes, but all they wear from it are those dang TIGHT t shirts! And they ALWAYS pair it with cargo shorts, but there's the few people who wear it with jeans..

I swear, these kids look like walking billboards!
The media brainwashes everyone. These teens have this unquenchable desire to be just like everyone else. So the celebrities and the media say "Justin Bieber is an extraordinary recording artist! Ambercrombie clothes are cool!" and our generation follows what they say like brainless sheep.
Last summer, I went back to the town I was born and raised in for a visit. I went to a shopping centre I used to go to, and I didn't even recognize it with the new Ambercrombie and Hollister shops all around. It frustrated me. I thought it was just these metropolitan cities in the US.
The people who I think dress well and are cool, are the ones that either express themselves well through their clothes, or who dress uniquely. You can tell a lot about people by the way that they present themselves.

I definitely know how you feel, I don't get why everyone else seems to be obsessed with certain stores, and it makes you feel like an outsider because you don't wear them. It used to bother me, but I figure that people are entitled to wear whatever they want to, for whatever the reason they want to, and I shouldn't waste my time worried about it. It can definitely get annoying, but as long as your content with being yourself and having your own style then it shouldn't really matter.

They do that because of cliques, and cliques exist because people are afraid of being seperated and lonely

The reason I could see to be annoyed at it is if people are spending so much money on the clothes just for the name. It's just a name, fine if you like the clothes and wish to wear them, but I think it's silly to wear clothes just because they have a name on them. Very ironic coming from someone whose ideal career is based on this.

I love to be weird and i wear things for the strangest reason and i stand out a lot and i love Hollister/American Eagle/Aeropostale (i dont like abercrombie&fitch tho...its weird)...but have you ever thought that when they wear those clothes its just how they express themselves? maybe they dont want to stand out...so they wear what everyone else does...
