I heard that you get your period when you're 100 pounds. Then I heard that that isn't true. But if you were 100 pounds would that guaranty you getting your period?

Just wondering.

weight has nothing to do with it --
might want to ask your sister or mom.
age is more important than any thing --

Nahh, that's a load of old tosh, weight isn't a factor. Your ovulation and fertilisation pattern is what happens to cause a period. does weight affect periods?, using that as a google search you'll probably get your answer. :)

If you are underweight, you will not get your period but weather you are 100 pounds or not does not effect it. Different people start at different ages regardless of their weight.

Thanks for all the responses so far, I was really confused because I didn't really want to look it up online again since I wasn't sure if it was true. So I decided to ask online.

PS: I know 7 comments is probably not that much to some of you but I'm new so it's big to me!

I was told the same thing, I was bigger when I got my period around 125. But when I started cross-country I lost down to 98 and started having very unregular periods. So I guess theres some truth t that claim.

That can vary, but usually yes they become less heavy, and are prone to not last as long as many other people. It also depends on your diet too, so everything can affect a period.

It isn't a lie. The reason why it seems true is because you get your period around 10-13 years of age, by that time you're healthy weight should be 100+ pounds. It is just a coincidence, not a fact.

It's not true. I was (and still am) well over 100 pounds before I got my period. I also have alot of friends who are under 100 pound (around 80 pounds) who have theirs. You weight won't determine when you get it.
