she's ashamed of me

for the past week or so my mums been acting all strange. like whenever she see's my scars she flips and yells at me for ruining my life and hers. i understand this but i still cant help but feel upset and today she told me to put a long sleaved top on because she didn't want people talking about her badly. i know i shouldnt care but it made me cry so hard that she was ashamed of me.... i am but, when its me, its different

i know it's hard but look at it on her prespective people see scars and self mutilation on a child they look at the parents they think badly of them. perhaps they were hard on the child or abused them, people automatically assume things, it's our human nature. it is your choice to hide or show scars...
she isn't ashamed of you, but she doens't want people talking badly about you or her family.
if you want to be technical cutting does ruin your life... it's hard to get a job... you don't want your children o see your scars... a lot of relationships can be ruined, freiendships lost... however you don't really ruin another person's life, just make them upset and i think that is what she was getting at. She feels for you when she sees the scars and the cuts. it pains her to see her child, whom she loves harm herself.
