I'm afraid that would fall under the category of things we hate but can't really ban for. If we could ban for that, there are certainly a few people I wouldn't mind not having around. So yes, I'd say it's a problem, but no solutions come to mind.

And welcome back, man.

Meh you can't change people like that no matter how hard you try.

Yeah. About that.

So, you are telling us that the moderators should ban such characters? That'll be hard for them.

Useless or not, so as long they are not crossing the limits, they won't be in trouble.

So far, I haven't seen anyone that continuously posting frivolous and useless posts in the forums.

In case there is a fellow doing that, I think a warning is more than enough, don't you think so?

Seriously though, they're a nuisance, not a problem. One of the perils of dealing with other people- they're not all enjoyable to be around.

Are nuisances not problematic?

So long as its within the rules I dont see that its a huge problem.

Making a lot of useless threads and posts could be defined as spamming so yea it could be a problem.

It's a matter of degree.

Well, spam is spam. If a thread or post has an actual message, and isn't a double post or, in the case of threads, a duplicate of another thread, then I don't see the problem with it.

I think they'd be more of an annoyance than a problem. Even if they spam non-stop, they should be given a few warnings and if they don't quit, then ban them. They obviously don't care enough to listen to the warnings and they disrupt all over. If they spammed a lot in a few threads, then they should not get banned because a few threads can interfere with the threads but it's not such a big problem to the overall site. If what they do isn't violating the rules, then they shouldn't be banned but they may still be an annoyance.

A fly buzzing around your head is a nuisance, a guy holding a gun to your head is a problem.
Okay, that's kind of an extreme example, but it seems ridiculous to ban (or punish in any way) someone for being annoying. They'll get their own punishment by having people ostricize them v.v *knows this from experience*

No, but there are a select few, that I could count with one hand. That I wouldn't mind being slowed down.

Like said above, it's not necessarily problematic. But I get super annoyed when the aforementioned people post constantly, and contribute absolutely nothing. Just for the sake of getting a different colored face, and hiding behind that as an excuse as a "high poster" when really they're a "no poster" because nobody really understands their full opinions on anything because they state the OBVIOUS almost everytime they click that reply button.

Typically, I find the best way to tell if the majority of someone's posts are useless is to look at their post count and rep level. If they've a ridiculous amount of posts but little rep, then there's a good chance that they aren't contributing much good content to the forum.

If what they are posting is 'spam' or posting about things that have already been covered then yes.
