Can anyone relate?

i'm new, and i've join this site because i'm finding it hard to deal with things at the moment. My step dad recently left and my mum drinks everyday without fail. my friends try to help but they can't really relate. i feel like i have no one to turn too. i try every single day to explain to my mum how much she's hurting me but she never seems to listen.

has anyone else have the same problems? if so how are you dealing with this?

Hi!! welcome to the forums!! My name is Miguel, and I passed thru a moment (several months) of depression because my mom was about to divorce with my stepdad, and it's because of him that currently I'm in Italy... in those months I had a huge depression, because I didn't want to go to venezuela... it wasn't all about interest tho, I could feel that they loved each other, but my fucking brother started stealing, and that created alot of problems in the family... I know how it feels... anyways, just look forward... study, and get good grades, so one day, you can go to university, study more, and have a decent job... it's the best you can do now if your mom doesn't listen to you when you talk to her...

Sorry, I cant relate to your particular situation, but I definetly know what it's like to be depressed. If you want to talk, I will talk to you, and I hope that things will look up for you.

Try phoning one of these hotlines for teens. I have and they help when you have something you need to say, but you don't care to who. A good deal of the repondants were in all sorts of problems, maybe you can find someone who can relate.
