TheAmazingAtheist, by far my favorite YouTuber, has just put up a video concerning the mosque in New York. He sums it up perfectly, it's almost like he's reading my mind.

It's a fuck-filled video, but we all curse on VT, so who cares :P

If you don't have time to watch it, he's basically saying that even though the mosque may be an unpopular idea, it's still protected under First Amendment grounds and it's in the spirit of America to protect a group's right to expression even when the majority opposes it.

Your thoughts and criticisms? (As if you have any)

Him and I share similar sentiments, indeed.

I think the opposition has given up on arguing rights. They know it's a lost cause. They're merely trying to portray the decision as poor taste and blatant disrespect to the victims. What really irks me about that even some of the victims' survived family members and friends have preached their support for the community center being built there. If those with that level of personal involvement can rise above their grievances, why can't everyone else?

Nice find.

About Bin Laden, he's true. He led his men as insurgents during the invasion of Afghanistan by the USSR. It was the only time they and the US (as the CIA intervened to counter the communist threat; as with the Vietnam and the Korean war) worked together.

Apart from that, that guy is freaking awesome.
