I'm not proud of it, but it's something that I do a lot when I'm breaking down (it helps me stop from completely loosing it crying where other people could see me).

The problem is... sometimes, it leaves me with an intermittent "stinging", pulsing sensation for a couple of days in the exact part of the head I hit, and this time around has lasted way too long already, and is starting to feel uncomfortable.

Any ideas how to get rid of that?

Only thing i can think of is not to do it.... You could be causing permanent damage :/

Get checked out by a doc. It's possible you may have injured yourself.

you've probably brused something or given yourself a mild concussion [i say mild b/c you can still function, right?]

the rhythem of doing that makes it more appealing unforutnatly
but it's also easy to harm your brain that way.

Probably best to get it checked by a doctor
As the others have said, you may have bruised something, best to get it checked out though
And try not to do it in the future
