As much as apple fanboys like to brag about it, apple is not innovative. Their product line continues to be yearly upgrades to their computers and iPod, with new features that they label "innovative" even though they've already been around for years.

While it's an improvement over the old iPod nano, it's not anything special in my opinion.

Personally I like it. Won't buy it though.
My birthday is in November, and I will be buying the new 32GB Touch then.

yeah im thinkin about buying a new touch ive currently got a 2nd gen which will be out dated next year so ill keep it another year and then (if it comes out) im buying the 5th gen ipod touch. btw does the 4th gen have a camera?

Yes. Two actually. One on the front for FaceTime, and one on the back for 720p HD video recording and pictures.

They have mastered the art of deception, marketing, and ninjutsu. (especially the last one; which is because no one really knows the horrors behind the walls of Apple's inner sanctum/vault of treasures)

Its a back to basics ipod with their newist hardware,
and with it having a clip its made for people to use while they exercise or do other tasks that mean they cant hold it themselves or are likely to drop it

I'm hoping for the new iPod touch for Christmas. Hopefully the 64GB. Although if I got a smaller one I'd just use my Classic for music, the Touch for Apps and stuff :P

The new nanos look awful. The new Touches however I would consider buying. Nano with a touch screen just doesn't really seem to fit that part of the iPod brand.

Apple has to keep changing it up, they cant keep producing the same product over and over again, and expect it to sell when they have newer, better products out, so they have to keep itr fresh, and keep the consumers happy. :P
