What's a good idea for a first date? I mean, where i live, there's really not much to do… we're next to a relatively large city, though (Maine). I'd like to ask out this girl but I don't have a ton of ideas where. I'd like to save money but it's not really a huge deal. I figure you can't really talk or anything at a movie…

movies are always good. diner is alittle over doing it, but its always an option. umm bowling and mini golf are fun, but it matters on the person.

Movies are nice, but they don't offer much room for conversation. Plus there's that awkward.."uh, who's armrest is it?" moment if you guys aren't holding hands or anything. I prefer movies to be kept to when you're more comfortable with each other, not a first date.

Fun first dates are awesome. Go karts? Mini golf? Go to the park and have a picnic, try to fly a kite? Make cookies at home? Go ice skating? Ummm, I'm running out of ideas haha. A concert? (In my area, there's free concerts during the summer. Even if it's not a big band, or not even anyone you're into, it might still be fun, good weather, hanging out. Outdoor concerts usually are very laidback, it's okay to talk a little.)

Find a local sports game and go watch it? Hike a mountain?

Anything really.

Whatever you do, if you plan on keeping it a surprise or something, do tell her at least something. Don't let her come in a dress and sandals if you're hiking a mountain. Or if you're staying outside, let her know to bring a sweatshirt or something.

Also if you know she has a hobby of something, could do that with her. Or alternativly try getting her in on one of your hobbies, Then that way one of you can show off a little (not too much) Cause I usually stay at home with a girl and I teach her a bit on drums ( I'm a very keen drummer) and then gives me a chance for a little showing off, which usually gets a wow you're good kinmda response.

And just have fun :)

To me the best is dinner or just hanging out, like going out for a walk or something. Being the first date, you should do it so you would have a better chance to know each other, by being able to talk.

Good luck :)
