What's with the underwear fret?

Why does everyone go mad over which underwear to get and what brand is it?
I mean i can understand the decision on wether to wear boxers or briefs, but does it really matter other than personal comfort?

I know people saying "Oh yea I got my CK boxers on"...great what am i supposed to do with that information? Show you mine!? Nah, underwear is for comfort...or looking damn sexy in the bedroom but other than that whats the big hype?

the big hype is the knowledge that there wearing some expensive brand, that looks good. even though most people will only see about the first two inches. so, i just wear like hanes boxers, and have some nice ones for sexy time.

Haha I agree. it really is based on personal comfort. Not looks. Nobody is going to walk around in their underwear in public all day.
