so ive had a bony lump on the roof of my mouth for about a week now. not very big but noticeble. it hurts when i run my tounge over it and the other side of the roof of my mouth hurts like hell. When i googled these symptoms all i got was a ton of oral cancer websites so im a bit creeped out. I dont want to tell my mum because shes a nurse and always gets annoyed when i complain about something and she takes me to the doctor and it turns out to be nothing. what should i do?

It could simply be a small bit of gum recession exposing calcium layers or just slightly protuding bone/tooth deposits, these can be talked to about properly by your dentist.
Otherwise idk but if you're worried go to a doctors, you should never feel ashamed about going to see them or anything like that.

An ulcer maybe? Wash your mouth out with salt water.

my uncle and grandfather r dentist -
any abnormal growths in the mouthm gum or jaw bones should be looked at as soon as u can. oral cancer is more common with older people who smoke and take oral tobacoo products. heavy drinkers will also have a better chance or oral cancer.
since u r a teenager and show no other signs i would think u r going to b ok.
how ever i still would have a medical doctor or dentist review your condition.
