View Full Version : Not sure

I'm not sure if I have an eating disorder or not, most people I know think I do because I have lost a lot of weight recently. In the past 6 weeks or so I have lost about 23lbs. It is a bit of a problem, only because I had to get my leather pants and corset altered to fit my ever-shrinking body, in fact this is the 3rd alteration.
I have been really stressed and just miserable lately. Pulling a lot of late nights writing songs, traveling with my band, martial arts training to get ready for a competition, and I've just not been interested in eating anything (happens when I'm miserable). I might get turned down for the competition because I'm so thin now.

ouch this doesn't sound good
well maybe you should talk to somebody and tell them you are struggling with yourself
talk to the person who is incharge of the competiion and tell him/her whats going on and that you reallhy want to participate in this competition. just try and eat more but in a healthy way not stuffing your face with junkfood
like your greens and meats(if you are a meat eater) meats are very good for you. give it a try anf lett me know how it goes

mhmm try and get yourself into eating more regularily even if u don't want to
it may be hard at first but eventually you will be able to adapt to the changes your body is going through
good luck

Similar happens to me when i get stressed and i don't think it can be classed as an eating disorder as when the stress goes, you will probabley be eating more right?
Although if this goes on for long enough it can be dangerous. You should really try eating. Doesn't have to be all at once in meals. Try having a few snacks per day but make sure these snacks are pretty balanced so you are getting everything that you need.
Hope i helped :)

I would think it was nothing, if it weren't for the fact that this is the 3rd time I've had to get my leather clothes made smaller, and if I hadn't been shrinking steadily for almost 8 months now. In a way I like being smaller, and I think I look better this way, even though, logically, I should probably weigh more than I do. The stress comes and goes, it's gotten worse with going around with my band so much, and we don't really eat that much on the road (but we drink a hell of a lot). In a way I'm also worried about losing my boyfriend and I think I'd be more attractive if I was thinner.

Hmm i assume by drinking you mean alcohol? Because that has a lot of calories in it and you probabaly wouldn't be drinking that if you had anorexia or similar eating disorders. The fact that you are loosing weight though is a bad sign although it sounds to me as though you are quite active and maybe it's just the extra activity causing you to loose weight??

It doesn't sound good. I'm currently overweight and i get excited when i lose at least 2-3 pounds per week or so. I can't imagine losing 20 that fast. I'd check in with a doc. It's ALWAYS better to be say rather than sorry as the saying goes.

Yes, I should have been more clear, I did mean alcohol. Kind of interesting, I didn't know that there are a lot of calories in alcohol. Maybe it's just the crazy lifestyle and not being able to eat anything. I was getting worried, I thought it might have been some sort of subconcious attempt to make myself more attractive, avoid losing my position in this band and losing my boyfriend. I've always been average or underweight, but since I started looking skeletal, I thought there might be a problem. I've gone from about 140lbs to 109lbs in 8 months
