Ok i have a weirdo dog named Kanji. Cute, attentive, active, happy-go-lcuky protective and very weird(in a cute way). The problem is me and my mom are the only ones who care for her. Whenever we arent present my step-brother abuses her as tugging on her collar(she has a choke collar so it hurts), locking her up or doing something awful to her. So i go out of my way to make sure she is always around me, because hearing her crys is heartbreaking. My mom thinks as long as im around itll be ok. But im going to college next year, so im thinking should we let her go to a dog shelter. I believe this is sort of selfish of me, but my mom cant be around Kanji as much as I can and i cant bear to think of whatll happen to her when im gone.
The messed up part is that he calls Kanji to him and them provokes her making her bite, making him retaliate. Making me angry just writing it.
So should we let her go? or do something?
I truly cant stand thinking of an animal as sweet as her being abused for no reason than she cant fight back.

What about finding a family for her? And in the meantime it sounds like you need to 'train' your stepbrother

I think you should find a loving family for her and you should abuse your step brother like he abuse your dog and see how he like it.
I hate seeing stories like this about dogs being treated bad, I have two dogs, both really loving girls and just look into their eyes and they so beautiful I could never hurt them.
If I ever saw your step brother hurt your dog I would hurt him so bad.
It make me so angry looking at this story how someone could enjoy pulling the tail and hurting the dog....

Your mom hasn't punished your brother?

That's horrible, I have a dog and he's 20-something pounds of pure awesome. PURE awesome.
I really do believe, since the dog seems to be in danger of injury, that you should send her off to a shelter. It may not be easy, but it's what's best.

Your step brother is one disturbed kid. You should really let someone adopt her or leave her in an animal shelter and just, maybe, visit her once in a while? Don't let it come to this point:

Really, I feel sorry for your dog. :( And your bro is a loon :P

Do you know of any friends or family members who are looking for a dog? If you gave the dog to someone you know and trust then you'll probably be able to see it when you're at home and not at college. Otherwise you could put an ad out and try to find someone who would want to adopt the dog. No dog deserves to be abused like that, and I think that it would be best for the dog to find a new home.

Thank you. My mom and me are trying to discipline him but...lost case it seems. Ill really look into the family adopting her. Its never right to abuse anyone or anything that cant fight back equally or to abuse anything at all.

Addressing the problem of your brother, tell him you'll beat the crap out of him if he does it again. And if he does it again, treat him accordingly and give him a dose of his own medicine. As for the dog, I agree that you should try to find someone you know. Perhaps you could see the dog again sometimes if you found friends or family who would want a dog.

provoke your step bro to hit you or something then kick him straight in the nuts and say you had to "retaliate" lol (and provking him, or him provoking you, such as him hurting the poor dog)
if you see him abuse the dog, punch him in the gut or kick in the nuts, that way he will learn, "abuse the dog, get abused back 10x harder"

Why kick the nuts if you can castrate him? Without Anesthesia of course :yeah:
