Could smoking affect my athletic abilities and sports? I only smoke like 1 a day. On rare occasions 2 a day. What do you think?

Yea it could your lung capacity will go down by alot and you will have trouble staying active for as long or as fast as youve been

Yes. It can make breathing much harder. And when you get active your heart beats faster, meaning your body needs more oxygen, cuz oxygen and blood cells combine.

In time it will kill you. Doesn't matter if you smoke one a day. I suggest you stop. And yes, it will have an effect on your sports performance.

Cigarettes - even 1 a day - will impair your athletic ability, particularly your breathing. At the same time, there are athletes (including successful professionals) who do smoke.

I recommend against it.

Yes! It'll get harder for you to breathe since you're messing up your lungs. I recommend to try to quit asap.

Hasn't anyone ever told you smoking can lead to lung cancer? Don't you see people that are smoking have breathing problems? Even if you only have one a day, all of the cigarettes will eventually add up.

It'll destroy your lung capacity, along with lead to numerous other diseases. I'd quit if I were you.

Many don't know this fact.

Beside the lung problems and oxygen deprivations. Smoking also hampers the growth of the Muscular tissues, and weakens them. That goes to all muscles, including the heart.
So, this is a problem if you are an athlete. Smoking will make you lethargic.

It contains over 4000 chemical compounds. That includes carcinogens, receptor blockers, poisonous materials(few of them are even found in pesticides); I mean, Carbon-monoxide! It doesn't come out from your body, it sticks to haemoglobin(it is lighter than oxygen and more soluble), you know.

It damages your Neurocytes, Nephrocytes and Hepatocytes, and all your cytes, man!

I noticed I can row faster and for longer than a friend who always used to cane me, and i think the difference is because he started smoking last year. not scientific but i really don't think its coincidence.
Plus the money - seriously, if you are that rich just burn your cash you'll live longer.

Even smoking one single cigarette can affect your lung performance. Quit while you can bud, you don't want to end up with cancerous lungs, trust me it's not a pretty sight.

Yeah, it definitely will. Your lungs won't be as strong as people who don't smoke, and you'll probably notice shortness of breath and in some cases difficulty breathing if it gets too serious.
