This is a poem about this 12 year old girl who just finished 6th grade at my middle school who committed suicide this summer, 4 days before fathers day. She was revived but pronounced brain dead and taken off life support, June 19, the day before Fathers Day. I wasn't close to her, but it still affected me, the fact a seemingly happy 12 year old did this.
Hey Daddy, its me,
Your darling little dear,
Happy as can be.
In the sky, high up here.
Sike! Funny right?
How I took it all that day,
Turned your light into night,
And took my life away.
That dark day, June 19.
Before Fathers Day, a day of love,
No longer can I be seen.
Hiding up above.
So many goodbyes left unsaid,
So much love not given,
So many tears being shed
Since I gave up livin’
So Happy Fathers day!
Hope it was the best one yet,
After taking my life that day,
I left a mark, I bet.
I’m sorry now,
I see your tears,
I was angry then, and thought somehow,
The answer was stopping at 12 years.
I see now, I miss you all,
I really love you guys.
Do not think you’re too small,
And belong up in the skies,
Because when he needs you,
God will call,
Don’t make your years so few.
Hey Daddy, its me,
Your darling little dear,
Happy as can be.
In the sky, high up here.
