Remnants and shadows in slow decay
Are all that remain of a dying man.
Cryptic memories from a weary tome
Tell of a day when he too could stand.

Believing in false-hearted lies,
She led him to his eerie conclusion:
A six foot hole with a header
And no alternate solution.

Innocent blue eyes masking the rogue's
Promises of the sky and love eternal.
Flawless facade on the face of a liar,
Razor-wire gifts wrapped with intentions so infernal.

A festering comparison to his former self,
He wastes away in a cesspool of self-pity-
Screaming, crying for her return-
The one who held no sympathy.

Pleading in vain for which is gone,
A love, absent forever and evermore.
A forsaken, forgotten cause
He lies yearning for days of yore.

It's a love unseemly, yet undying-
Story of a heart screaming for years
Till at last it beats itself to dust
After crying out to deaf ears.

Though the tool of her manipulation
He could never walk away.
A game of folly for a faltering man-
She'd never lose, his love, never betray.

So in this tale there's no resolution,
No positive outcome for a disheartened soul.
It's just one sorrowful climax after anohter
And an undying love with it's weighted toll.
