And I'm appropriately excited. I've had plenty 10th graders tell me about how great high school is compared to middle school, which sucked hard. Liberation from uniform, lockers and over 9000 textbooks to haul to school is a welcome change.

I can't help being afraid of Geometry, though. Math wasn't kind to me last year, I missed the Straight A's For Three Years In A Row award because I got an 89 (AN EIGHTY NINE) in algebra for one semester. I bet with enough studying I'll get by fine though... :headache:

I'm looking forward to debate and theater though, which I've heard are both fun classes.

Since most people in the US are going back to school this week (as far as I know), I'm sure you guys have some worries (or not)?

I have a feeling High School's either gonna be awesome or suck
...

This year I'm taking Algebra II
And pretty much all my classes are Pre-AP
....
And I'm in Marching Band
....
AND JAZZ BAND
AND SPANISH
AND CHINESE

YEAH THIS IS GONNA SUCK ;_;

Geometry was the easiest math to me. It made sense, maybe because I could actually see the shit instead of just having to think about it.

High school isn't all that bad. At least not here, but I don't really know where you live.

Don't try to be awesome. Please.

High school makes you sleepy.

My GPA has gone from way above a 4.0 to just below it.

High school gets harder as you go, be prepared to improve your work ethic or you'll end up like me.

maybe was there to get
into the school,

start school he right after labor day -
going into the 9 year.
i like math. i will be taking math 11. right now im 2 years ahead in math.
skipping science 9 and going to science 10.
this summer i took regents test and pasted french 1 2 3 and 4.
i go to a private all boys school -- which is a pain in the ass.
school is like a full time job where i go. the brothers r not like the most friendly
educators. wish i were allowed to go to public school. but never had even when i live in canada. like being in the army where i go now. not a good place if u r not able to comply with the program.

Three things you should ALWAYS remember:

1) Be yourself
2) Do your homework in advance
3) Pay attention

You'll be fine if you follow those three main things. Good luck :)

High school is so much better than middle school. So much more freedom... Especially from my stupid middle school that had no windows, assigned seating at lunch, and lines down the hallways telling you which way to walk. Going from that to an arts school was like :O

What I don't understand about middle school is that they cut back on freedoms more than high school or elementary. There's no danger in letting kids have freedom, it would actually make the learning environment a little less stressful.

i wasnt worried at all for HS. My school goes K-12th grade in the 2 buildings which are next to eachother. so we know all the teachers and stuff and we know everyone so none of that like pick on freshman thing. Its also pretty small like the graduating class was 48 and my class now is 73 so its petty small and friendly somewhat...

Up here, we have junior high(Grades 6ish-9ish) in a highschool which is basically 10-12 and its all in one building, and you get the 'small' feeling from being the on the top in grade 6 and going to the bottom of the food chain. Personally, Im homeschooled and in Canada, so cant really say anything about the US, but I find it kinda stupid to do that. Grade 7 was hell, and hence why I switched to homeschooling.

Yeah, being thrown from the top of the food chain (8th grade) to the bottom of an even bigger food chain (9th grade) is a discomforting experience. The US doesn't have as much money to spare, I guess, and squeezes 2,000 teenagers into one building.

I find it weird that at my school all the freshman are tiny. I'm serious about this. When I was a freshman we weren't tiny like they are, except for the select few.

Oh my god! I know. They're all... little. They look like sixth graders. I mean I know I'm six feet tall, and extra manly. But still. I know when someone looks young.

And lots of them are dorks. I'm not a bully, and I'm not that popular. But I see them wearing small jean shorts, and a large t shirt that's tucked in.. And they're alone all the time. Not talking to anyone.

I bumped into one of them and I sincerely turned around and said "Hey, sorry man." And he was absolutely rude. So I told him to go fuck himself.

And guess what. He got his ass BEAT. Because his shitty attitude got the best of him.

Most people are never rude to me like that.

Also, as I said before. Their attitude is worse. Drama on the first day. All I heard were girls screaming at each other. They just dig themselves a deeper grave. I honestly feel stupid just watching them.

I haven't really noticed drama with freshmen at my school since I have once class that has freshmen in it. There was a "fight" on Friday in our courtyard on Friday and you could all the freshmen flocking towards it, lol. I put fight in quotes because the juniors or seniors(don't know which one) just stood and did a staredown. It was so lame; I saw the whole thing walking to my class.

I probably won't see many fights, because I leave after fourth period.

I remember when Cathy and I fought just to get stares. Slamming each other into the lockers, rolling on the floor while hitting each other with our elbows and screaming wildly. It was fun.

There are fights about every week.

I don't fight, I just punch people and get in trouble.

I'm tired of dramatic people. I mean, I'm dramatic but I don't publicise that shit. Freshmen scream it out to the world, and have stupid fights in the middle of the hallways, and walk around in circles going "Ohh!" I hate it. And those are usually the ones to try and fight with me. But I put them in their place.

Same goes with grown men at work.

My school had only one fight last year, and it was reminiscent of Paige and Manny on Degrassi. They basically just pulled each other's hair and slammed into the walls. It just made the upperclassmen hate the freshmen even more, especially because it was the first fight in two years or something.
