Sooooo, this is just another random drawing, and I'd like to know what you all think, thanks! :)

Drawn with:
-Faber-Castell Inking Pens
-Copic Ciao Markers
Edited with:
-Corel Photo-Paint X3
(Also used for colouring skin tones, because one of my markers died... T.T)
EDIT: I struggle with shading digitally, but this is an attempt at improvement...

mmm... Three things bother me:
Lack of nose: No, even if some mangakas like to ignore the existence of the nose, it doesn't really work. The nose is one of the most important facial feature in humans, so you won't want to under-represent it.
Lack of shadows: This removes any perception of depth (the 3D effect). Add shadows where needed.
Eyes: One is significantly larger than the other.
Hope this helps!

While it's true that the nose is an important reference point when drawing a face, e.g. with it being the central facial feature, I don't understand why it is fully necessary in this picture, because of the intended drawing style. *Personal opinion*

It's really hard to find colors in a computer program that contrast enough to make adequate shadows, lol. I'm gonna have to work on coloring skin digitally...
Eyes: One is significantly larger than the other.
It's an illusion, resulting from the fact that her hair is covering an important portion of the eye that should probably be visible... Maybe not? I might try to fix it later... :)
Hope this helps!
Thanks. :)

If you ask me, the nose in my drawing is just as noticeable? :)

"Because the middle of the face tasted empty". You know the rule: you can twist reality however you want as long as the viewer doesn't notice it. Unless, of course, your goal is to make it noticeable on purpose - but I doubt this was the case :).
The issue - I think - is that your picture doesn't really decide between realism and caricature. Facial proportions are (except for the size of the eyes) on the realistic side; however, the nose and the eye size are caricatural. That doesn't mix very well IMHO.

Probably, although there are also tricks. I should show you what I found myself someday on paintchat :). One technique that works well is to first apply the base tones on a layer, then apply darkness on a second, overlaying layer, and render it partially transparent. You can then quite easily get a decent cel-shading effect.

Nah, the eye on the right of the picture is definitely taller than the left one - I checked with a ruler just to be sure it wasn't a sort of optical illusion ;).

Two things to say here:
- Never ever do things just because "a pro did the same". Pros can and do make mistakes, all the time. Just because a pro made a picture doesn't mean it isn't wrong (I don't say it is the case here - I just mean it is not a good idea to do that);
- There are differences: shadows on that pro picture make the tip of the nose noticeable. The distance between the facial elements eyes-nose-mouth is also very reduced, which contributes to minimize the lack of noseness. Your character face displays a more or less normal eye-nose-mouth distance, hence the middle of it is larger, and as a consequence, very noticeable. That's what I meant above: his (her?) style is very caricatural, while yours isn't as much.
(As a side note, I tend to prefer your own choice of facial proportions - I find that pro drawing too caricatural for my own tastes. But that's my personal opinion).
This hopefully will help!

If you look closer, both eyes are relatively the same height, just the one on the right is higher than the one on the left, which could easily make it appear to be larger. [The top of the right eye may be above that of the left, but the lower part of the left eye is lower than the lower part of the right eye.] Maybe? Lol.

I think that the left eye to us, should be smaller to add perspective. Right now it's about the same size as the other one but it should be just a tad smaller.
And maybe add a background, doesn't have to be too detailed, just a gradient over a texture and it could really add to it.
Other than that it's pretty good for anime, I actually really like the eyes :)

I know next to nothing about artwork, so I don't have any criticism. But I really like this. :) Sometimes lack of details isn't always a bad thing, I think the way you did things worked out really nicely. I could never draw so well. Nice job. :D

I agree, but people criticize me every time I try that so I gave up on it, lol. :P

I've tried stuff like that, but a digital background doesn't really mix all that well with a hand-drawn picture...

Thank you very much! :)
