View Full Version : Where's the line?

Sorry, I may be crossing a line by posting this(hm, funny word choice, considering this whole post is about the lines of "OK" and "not"), but if Morgan can I don't see why I can't. I'll keep the serialkiller-type comments to a minimum, but since that's not relevant to the thread...

How big of an age gap is inappropriate for flirting when the older person is initiating it? What about when physical contact is involved?

What's appropriate for a kid to be wearing in the water, given that they look 2 years older than they are?

WHERE ARE THESE LINES? What's appropriate, what's just wrong, what's accidental.

I don't know. No one ever stepped in, it must have been OK, right?

I'll say anyone over the consent age flirting, and touching a minor, (or the other way around) is crossing the line
of the law

when an adult has sex with a minor is called statutory rape,
even when they both want it,

So you feel 10 or 11 with 15 or 16 is OK?
[the age of consent in most of the US is 16]

morally, I believe any age difference is OK,
for them to be in love, and have feelings
but to act on it, before the age of consent, I think thats OK, but they really should wait, but to the law, thats crossing the line,

And age difference is OK as long as they are both out of the consent age,

Did the minor consent to it? Did the minor want it to happen? If not, it shouldnt have. If not, the minor should have been protected.

Hun, feel free to PM me whenever/if you need to talk, about anything at all. :hug3: You're extremely strong, you know that right?

This isnt the relationship forum... its the abuse.. can you connect the dots? :/

I know just from experience, most people call it abuse even when they both want it.

I'm not asking about age of consent - legal and moral are two wildly different things.. Both parties are under, or just at.
The younger one is being forced into this.

But, they're just boys, right? And it was my fault for exposing myself that much. I LOOKED 13, which would have been more reasonable. But no amount of saying that stopped anything, "telling an adult" is the most useless piece of advice EVER...

Most people aren't asking about general relationship "norms" in the abuse forum. If this was a "relationship" that I felt pressured to get out of because of an age gap I'd post it there. This is the abuse forum, asking about where the line between "normal" and "sexual abuse" is.
Please stop pushing your "age is just a number" views in the abuse forum.
Thank you.

Wow, you know very little about Kyle, and this forum(Not that I know much, but I know he wouldnt lie. Dont ask how, I just do). Im sorry, but its not about it being MORALLY right, but its about it being LEGALLY right. Please hun, think a little. Not everything is about relationships being moral.

 It was still wrong. They may have been 'just boys' but what they did was wrong. Completely and utterly wrong. And I have to agree with you when it comes to telling an adult. Most of the time, they disbelieve it because they think the older ones can do no wrong, which is a load of crap. They should have known better, but they didnt, and whether you looked older than you were has nothing to do with it; If you didnt want it, they shouldnt have done it.

legally speaking The age difference doesn't mater, its the age of consent that does,
like if in a place the age of consent is 18, and 18 year old can get arrested for having sex with a 17 year old

(edited)

wait didn't read that, until now

than thats not statutory rape

it still is rape, but I don't think age difference is a factor

Thanks. What's annoying is part of me knows this, part of me feels that it's somehow different.
IDK. I feel so stupid. =|

And, I know it can't be all boys. Kyle is a nice guy, so are a few (..few) of his friends... but which is the norm?

Could you stop digging yourself into a hole, thanks? For fucks sake, I'm not talking about age of consent, nor rape.
There really is a difference, and if you're too stupid to recognize this, leave me the fuck alone.
I don't care that it was "legal" as far as consent goes.
FORCED. Is FUCKING FORCED legal? If it is, does that make it right?
Sorry for making a Nazi analogy and a MLK reference, but everything done in Nazi Germany was LEGAL, but very few would say it's RIGHT.

I didn't want any of this.
But it was pushed on. Because I was a little whore. Just another little fucking slut, who deserved to be harassed and treated like a piece of meat.

No, you weren't. You were none of those things. You were an innocent child. You didn't deserve it. It was wrong.

Look; Shut up before you get yourself into more trouble. This has nothing to do with relationships like you're talking about. This is about sexual abuse. If you cant understand that, shut up.

There's a majority of guys who WOULDNT do it. Just keep in mind that the ones that did it to you, were incredibly fucked up. It wasnt legal, it was inappropriate, and wrong, and those boys should go to jail for it.

You're not a whore. Not a slut. No reason to be harassed, should not have been treated like a piece of meat.

There was no reason for it to have happened, and you didnt deserve to have it happen to you. They had no right to touch you, and they did. They should be strung up. Im always around if you need to talk hun.
