View Full Version : Do you think it's real?

I don't know where to put this really so I'll just put it here since it fits best to me.
People that have smoked a bit in their past will definitely know what I'm talking about in this thread.
Ok, when I get smoke (marijuana), I feel like I have a sixth sense. Sometimes it's being able to tell what people are thinking and if they're lieing, and sometimes it's like being able to predict the future (mildly), and sometimes it's other things. And it seems completely real. But then, once I come back down, the sense is gone, and when I think about it, it seems like a bizarre idea.
BUT that's only because you can't feel the sense anymore. And when you can't feel the sense anymore, it seems impossible for it to be real.
And people are like "Ohhhh you got high on mushrooms and you figured the world out? SUREEE you did." Because THEY can't feel the sense either. It's completely crazy to me.
So, if you've ever felt this before, do you think it's real? Or do you think that it's all fake.
I myself, think it's real.

I don't know if I would quite describe it like that, but I most certainly do feel like my mind is completely opened up when I smoke.
I pretty much always loose the sense of time and space perception. All events seem to merge into one yet they're so far apart yet they're all the same. Space is the same; it's almost like things move around me, not me moving around them. It opens my mind up to things I would have never been able to perceive before - I have thoughts go through my head which would make no sense when I'm 'sober' as I just wouldn't have the brain capacity to compute them.
I kind of get the 'sixth sense' thing as I genuinely feel a connection to everything around me, like we all share something which therefore connects us. This does happen with other people at times; it's like our consciousnesses all merge into one shared consciousness.

I think weed has the potential to open your mind up to so many different things that all people experience different things while on it. I can definately relate to the aspect of having some sort of added perspective or sense while high on marijuana, and the absense of it when the effects wear off.
For me, i usually have a changed perspective but it's not always on the same things. I've definately analyzed life and myself on different occasions and my thoughts on the matter were not always the same, but when I wasn't high anymore i wasn't able to harness the same perspective anymore and I'm still not able to explain what and how I thought because it just isnt there anymore; but I honestly dont even know if i want to write it down to know because sometimes it scares the hell out of me
Anyways that's what I have to say about it, alot of that is just personal to me and you may not understand but I sure do and all i have to say is weed changes you as a person and how your mind works for a period of time and it's really quite interesting and I wish it would be researched somehow because its fascinating
*edit*
To answer your question i'm gonna have to say that i'm really not certain if its real for you or not. It could very well be possible that the weed is just convincing you that you are psychic and stuff when you really aren't, or it may indeed give you that added perspective that's absent when your not high. Weeds a curious thing my friend and like I said before i wish people could openly conduct research on the mind effects of it and document it somehow because I'd love to see what kind of facts and ideas they could come up with

I don't mean it like I'm psychic, I mean by the expressions on peoples' faces, I can tell what they're thinking and if they lie or something. And when I say I can "tell the future", I mean that before I do something, I can tell what will happen depending on what "path" I choose to take. It's not like I can tell the end of the world, I can just tell what's going to happen if I do so and so.
Chequ3r described the feeling better than I did, and it's definitely true that it can "open" up your mind. I feel like when I'm walking, I'm just walking in place, and the scenery around me is kind of moving past me instead of me actually moving on it.

i pretty much get the same thing you do buddy
the feeling like you sense what people are thinking or when there lying, i would chalk that up to paranoia, but in a sort-of good way
that and when your on weed, well, THC is technically a psychedelic, stimulant, and depressant, all in one
alot of people, after taking psychedelics, notice more psychedelic feel too marijuana. I get the a tripping mindset when high personally and it sounds like you do to.
remember this, the Rasta's use Marijuana as a realigous sacrament and belive it helps you be in tune with god and such
Marijuana hasa been used by many coltures as a realigous sacrament for the very reason that its "mind-expanding" and lets you feel like your in tune with a greater force if you decide to steer your mind that way
