Free good editing Software ? there isn't really a free one, some acceptable free editing softwares can be: Windows movie Maker, iMovie.
Good editing softwares (not free): Adobe Premiere Pro*, After Effects* (for more personalized effects), Final Cut (Mac), Sony Vegas...
*(You can downland free trials at Adobe.com )

Windows Movie Maker and Vegas. Use the trial and if you like it, erm erm, do your thing.

Nothing good is free. The only way it's "Free" is to torrent it, or --By the grace of God-- have somebody just give it to you. Windows Movie Maker gets the job done anyway. But I use Camtasia Studio for big projects.

Depending on your OS I suppose. I use Final Cut Pro. But for some REALLY cool stuff you should look into Adobe After Effects

I used to use Coral Studio Pro X something or rather. It worked well enough for me. Good presentation, easy to use, good effects, keeps quality etc.
But it does cost money.. but I got mine.. a different way.. for free.
And you can actually find Youtube videos how to get it, which is how I got it. :P
Coral Studio Pro X whatever does have a 30 day free trial, depending on how long you need it. Like if it's just for a rare project, then trial will work. If you looking for something permanent, then.. It'd have a look on Youtube for those videos.
Merged double post. -Gigablue
