Hey, so for the last few weeks i have been gettting really paranoid at night, and like.. i havent been sleeping until around 4am ish when im fully tired... i dont know why im so paranoid but its starting to annoy me now im not getting enough sleep and being pretty wary at night.

Well do you watch TV before you go to sleep? Or play video games? Sometimes when really indulged into something like that can set off adrenaline and can trigger different feelings. I know when i used to play video games before I went to sleep or a really action filled ore horror movie, my mind was still racing 1000 mph. If you do watch TV or play video games, I would recommend you read a book or do something relaxing before bed. Take a warm shower/bath (very soothing) or listen to calming music( not screamo :P) Just try something that you know is calming and don't watch TV or play video games AT LEAST an hour before you need to go to bed. I hope this helps or even if I am on the right track.. If you need someone to talk to I'm always here VM me anytime.

Do you log a lot of hours on the computer? Spending a lot of time on the computer can have similar effects. Straining at a screen for hours on end. The same goes for TV and Video games, just get off all electronics an hour before bed. It may help.

What kind of a paranoia is it? Like scared someone is there? Could you maybe go in more depth of what you're paranoid about?

Like.. hearing a noise and being scared of what it is and thinking of things it might be... or loud cars driving past or kids outside.. proper makes me wary and theres my fear for spiders n stuff to top it ;l

Well at night for me I am always on watch, but like I said in previous posts, try to do something relaxing before you go to bed as it lessens the chance of it being as bad as it is. I usually listen to music not cranked, but quietly or use and iPod in your ears that way you don't have to listen to anything outside or whatever. It drowns it out so you can concentrate on sleep more.

i hate having ipod earphones in.. not being able to hear anything scares me alot. and the more i concentrate on sleep the less tired i get and the more ridiculous i feel when iv been layed in bed for 1hour and still wide awake

So not hearing anything, but your music and wanting to hear the things that makes you paranoid still scares you? I'd rather not hear anything especially since I know I'm safe inside. Plus why worry about something that shouldn't even matter? You should try to find something relaxing. Remember not hearing anything isn't a bad thing. No one is out to get you.

yeah.. but thats how i feel, like someone or some people arent exactly out to get me.. but to get anyone, and that anyone could be me.. like robbery / throwing stones at windows n stuff.. every noise i hear im like ''What was that?'' i actually like mhaving my cat in my room with me at night.. it somehow helps me :l

Then why not listen to music? It doesn't make sense to create something to worry about.. I know what it's like to be paranoid at night, but I just put my headphones in my ear and I close my eyes. I don't have to exactly concentrate on sleeping or look at the time. Because then your creating more thought for your mind to ponder, creating MORE delusions an thoughts. Is it really worth keeping yourself up all night, just to be in fear, when you can drown it out, keep your cat close and drift off?

But it aint like that.. i cant just say.. well im not scared anymore and im gonna listen to music and go to sleep.. wtf? its been like 3 weeks of me staying up till like 4am like i mentioned.. i cant just drop this paranoia i just need a way to work on losing it.. like im taking ur suggestion of reading a book.. ill have to go buy one tomorrow cos i dont read books.. but it might help... and im happy to try that.

I think you may have misconstrued what I said. I didn't say OUT of no where just "got to bed and forget it" no, I'm not like that. What i guess I am trying to emphasize here is why stay awake all night as you have described and be paranoid and not do something. I'm really glad you're going to get a book, because books are really boring and they make me tired, especially at night. Just get like a long and boring one xD it always helps me.

''I am trying to emphasize here is why stay awake all night as you have described and be paranoid and not do something'' - I dont do nothing.. i dont wollow in self pitty or anything.. the fact that i get abit scared and wary makes me want to talk to people on msn n stuff, i dont just sit on my bed waiting or anything...
oh and my brother just got home.. and hes with a mate so that puts my mind at eaze for tonight :)
