This may sound like a stupid question... but is burning when it doesnt damage the skin, just hurts at the time, but doesnt leave any mark whatsoever, self harm? It hurts but doesnt produce any damage...

Also i had gone so many days self harm free, then i did the above, does this mean i have slipped up? and need to start trying again? It felt good i dont want to stop, its less harmful than cutting...

meh sorry shutting up now.

Any replies would be greatly appreciated :) thankyou so much x

This is still self harm because you are delibrately inflicting pain on yourself. For example, scratching/biting/etc. is still self harm even though it doesn't leave marks.

As for your other question, yes, this is a small slip up, but not as big of a deal as a more harmful burn.

I think technically it is self harm... although i have also heard that self harm is descriebd as something that leaves a mark for over an hour. Either way i have done this before and nolt really counted it as a slip up, more like a baby step towards not doing it at all.
Hope i helped :)

self harm = self inflicted harm. so yes, i'd say it is self harm.

yeah like everyone else has said, its still self harm even if it doesn´t leave a mark, because you´re deliberately inflicting pain upon yourself.

It is still self harm but if you really need to,holding an ice cube until it melts I think that feels a little like burning and it doens't leave a mark.

Thankyou everyone :)

Thankyou Laura, sometimes that works but not really enough but thanks :) see i dont understand how can that be considered self harm? It hurts yes? And you do it on purpous so isnt that self harm by everyone elses definition? And snapping elastic bands on your arms ect? Sorry :(
