So, has enough time passed to evaluate the usefulness of a holistic forum?

For those of you who are unfirmiliar with the holistic spectrum of medicine- holistic doctors look to cure people of illnesses or disorders without the use of drugs. There are homeopaths, nutritionists, herbologists, accupuncturists, massage therepists, orthomolecular therepists, and a whole host of doctors looking to cure people gently and naturally.

Alternative practitioners have found ways to help
just about every mental disorder. Often times, mental disorders are completely cured, instead of "blocked" which is what drugs do.

Alternative practitioners also believe that the United States is too highly medicated, and regular doctors are too willing to give you a pill to "fix" your problem. I'm afraid of what this would will be like later on. The teen generation is the first generation of people who will be highly medicated their whole lives. We'll see what toll it has on us in the future.

A holistic forum would be able to inform everyone of how they can avoid drugs, and use them only as a last resort. My diary, "The Witch Doctor" has been posting a few interesting holistic tidbits. Yet, it needs it's own forum, so it can be prominantly displayed next to the meds forum. I want everyone to have a choice about their own bodies. So, please vote yes- and tell our admins that we should be able to choose how we want to take care of ourselves.

I personally think its a great idea. Some people may not want to use chemicals and therapy to get "rid" of your problems. I used to do some homeopathic stuff and it really helped my mood a lot! I think its much better to use more of a natural way to get rid of things because the side effects are less for everything. Many of the things aren't addictive, like mcertain chemical medacation can be, and its important to know your options.

You are going to have to wait longer then "if it gets no posts" because we still have the same old memebers... the rest are slowly trackin in.

How about a deal- if we get more posts than the meds forum (or a similar number), then we can keep it.

I'm already planning on moving most of the posts from The Witch Doctor to the holistic forum to give us a start.

I really won't be needing my diary anymore once the holistic forum is made. I only use my diary as a holistic forum anyway :) There's only 3 or 4 non-holistic related topics!

Also, you might want to fix up the moderation of it (it is still handled by the diary mods and myself, as though it is a misplaced diary). I'll handle it if you like, or you could open it up to anyone who will take it.

Also, could you put it next to the Meds forum in the list? Possibly both at the bottom, if you could do that. That way they are more organized :)

Wanted to bump this back up to gain Josh's attention- did you see the suggestions for the forum description?

Also, the reorganization of the position of Meds and The Witch Doctor forums.

And... I'm still a diary mod of TWD, not a regular mod, but can I still modify the forum as a regular mod can? If so, I'm happier with that set up than me actually being a mod.
