Permission to view/edit/move files/folders

I just bought a hard drive enclosure (caddy) and when I plugged it in and found the files I wanted, I attempted to open up the folders and I got these messages and windows. I've worked out how to make it work, I just need to know if there's a faster way of doing it; considering that I've got to do it for each individual picture or compressed file.

On the last picture, see the checkbox "Replace owner on subcontainers and objects".
Check that.
I'd do it on the permissions page for the drive, or whatever folders have security restrictions on them.
If you do it just per file, it's not going to do diddly squat.

You know what the ironic thing is... I actually found that check box about 10 minutes after I posted this thread. Thanks anyway... :)
