For those that have a car or clean your parent's car, how clean do you keep it? Exterior/interior. Do you perfer it to be clean or is it not a big deal?
Me, I try to keep mine as clean as possible. Especially in the summer time. I'll usually detail it once a week. Interior is quite clean, but could be cleaner. Needs a vaccum

I'm with ya on this one.. I like having my car clean int/ext atleast once a week if not every two at the most. I also hate the car washes they do this like half fast job and that bugs the "$&@!" outta me and plus who would want to drive with trash everywhere. Lol I'd rather walk

On the outside my car is extremely clean, its waxed and buffed with no scratches/dents/
Inside is a different story. It has numerous empty water bottles and dunkin donuts coffee cups and empty cig bbxes. It also has mine and my girlfriend's lax clothes/gear.

My car is a restored chevy impala, so the interior is brand new, and so is the paint job. It's extra clean, and I want to keep it that way. I clean it every week.

The car I ride in most often is my friends families car (4 times a week to feed and ride the equus), which is full of hay, mud, little bits of horse food and treats, bits, saddles, tack, grooming supplies, blankets, ect. It's dented up and the front bumper is tied on with hay string.
My parents car is fucking sterile. I like the dirty one better. Probably because I'd rather be a barn people than a domestic suburb people.

I get my 06 Mustang next year, so I will keep it SUPER Clean.
I just washed it yesterday. It stays in the Garage most of the time (until I get it) so It really doesnt need to be washed yet.
I also will wash, wax, detail, and clean the inside until its spotless.. next year when I get it.
But the inside stays really clean because we dont use it that much

lol Hmm, well I used to clean my mom's car, since it would've been my car, but I'm not taking it or cleaning it anymore. She started smoking, it totally ruined the floor with her ashes, it smells horrible, plus she put out her cigarettes with the car itself. O.O
That car doesn't look very well anymore...

I keep mine decently clean and wash it once a week. I keep the interior immaculate, and make the exterior immaculate for car shows. Its difficult to keep my car from getting dusty because I live in a town surrounded by farms and there is a ton of dust in the air from guys plowing their fields...

I keep my car...tidy, but not super clean. Our driveway isn't paved, it's sandy gravel shit, so every time you get in or out, you drag dirt in with you, so I vaccuum it....when I feel like it. Saturday I spilled a whole fricken bottle of Vitamin Water on the seat, and realized I had nothing to clean it up with, so now my car smells faintly of orange stuff.
The outside stays, kinda clean, but I'll wash it at some whenever I feel like it.
I don't keep too much garbage in my car though, a bottle maybe or an empty cup.

well 'my' car, because my parents own it, i just drive it while learning and it will be the car i drive when i get my licence, doesn't get cleaned by me as much as it should. i personally hate car washing. however, i do hate having rubbish inside the car, so as far as that goes, its always clean.

It needs to go to the scrap heap. Our apartment manager doesn't allow you to wash or vaccum your car, so I have to wait until I can go to my parent's to do that stuff. I may end up renting dad's basement, so I'll be able to keep it clean once our lease is up in this fourth Reich xD

What the hell? You cant vacuum your car? :P
Thats retarded...
I can maybe understand the no working on cars in the parking lot, mostly because automotive fluids are quite icky when they spill, however washing and vacuuming? Really?
Id just take it to a coin operated one, for $4 you can pre-soak, wash, rinse, and wax your car and it takes probably 10 minutes... :P :D

Currently since it's winter, and snowy and stuff, I don't bother cleaning it because all the salt get's all over the outside and i track in gravel and snow and salt and such into the inside so it's a waste vaccumming it also, but I do keep trash cleaned. No wrappers, no bags, no pop bottles, no nothing.

Here are the ways to clean your car like
Park your car in a shady area
Pour some soap into a bucket with the hose running until the water gets soapy and bubbly
Rinse off the car to remove any loose dirt, dust or grime
Rinse the car with a hose and clean water after you wipe down a section
Rinse the wheels and remove all of the soap
Dry the car with a cloth

Well, being I live in the Pacific Northwe(s)t and I don't have a garage, it can be pretty difficult to keep it clean all year round. It rains over the half the year so summer is our big break for sunshine. And during that time I'm cleaning the Vic atleast once a week. I love it when it's super clean. I've done just about everything, except claybar the entire car.

I clean my parents cars, with two new and rather upmarket cars, the only way to describe the way I have to clean is anal. We have a compressor set up with a spray gun originally meant for painting cars, that is filled with truck wash which is sprayed under the guards to keep them clean. They are cleaned once a week, the inside is Armour-All-d (wipe on protector for your dash and other plastics), vaccuumed, the leather is conditioned, and the metal parts (badge on steering wheel, door handles etc) are all wiped, my dads car also gets it's engine degreased once a month. The woodgrain, marble finish, carbon fibre finish etc are polished as per necessary each clean. They are all polished once every 6 months. Then there is upkeep that I am incharge of, ie. Keeping the navigation units with the current maps and software. I also have to find any modifications my dad feels he wants.
So after reading how anal my parents are, never complain about cleaning a car again!
Thankfully, they give me a sweet deal for all of this :)
