I have decided to forgoe eating all red meat, and avoiding all poultry if other options exist. My reasoning is for the absolutly inhumane and horrible way these animals are raised and slaughtered. If you do some research, you might just come to see it my way as well. I am now only eating fish, which i like anyway, small amounts of dairy products (cheese on bread or crackers, butter on a potatoe), fruits, Legumes, and Nuts. I may eat some chicken if i have to, and i will avoid any fried foods if possible. Not only do i believe this is a humane and environmentally friendly thing to do, it is also a ast improvment in my eating habits, a change that will hopefully cause some weight loss and healthy living. Do any of you guys support my mission?

Ok not to be rude, I agree that most of the animals arent treated right but it wont change anything if a few million people in this world avoid eating meat.. The numbers wont go down if some ppl stop eating meat the numbers of animals killed for food will just go up like always.. And not eating meat isnt very healthy

just quick questions

-What makes a chicken that was treated inhumanly differnet than a chicken who wasn't?
-(assuming you don't eat any chicken anymore) what makes a fish perfectly acceptable to eat, but a chicken not?

Because Fish are the lowest form of animal, are very, very healthy, have brains smaller than peanuts, and i just like fish. I dont care if i wont change it, i just refuse to be a part of it. Because you dont rape women, but whether or not you do doesnt effect rapists decision, does that mean thats its ok to rape? (maybe not a good analogy, but you see where im coming from). The only reason i would eat chicken, is because there are no other choices (say, at a fast food restaurant) and i dont want to be hungery.

Yeah, totally. If anyone wants to be a vegetarian it's totally o.k. with me. Two of my aunts are vegetarians, and it does have its health benefits.

If you dont eat meat you have to eat nuts or tofu to get your required amount of protien. Meat is accualy very good for you, expect to lose muscle and get weaker for not eating meat.

Not all meat is good for you, like kolte said, red meat is pretty bad for you. Nuts are healthier sources of protein and aren't going to make someone lose muscle.

I said expect to lose muscle and get weaker for not eating meat (unless you eat a shitload of nuts)

I don't have any problem with eating meat. I rather like meat. I just think less animals should be killed and people should cut down on meat consumption. I'm learning a lot about sustainability. From what I've learned we can't just not stop killing animals because there would end up being too many of them. We just need to keep the killing to a minimum.

I think that if animals could they would kill and eat us too. Accualy some tigers in india still do eat people.
