Surely at least one of you encountered this problem:
-When you touch the open button, the PS3 will function normally for 3 seconds.
-Then a yellow light will flash.
-Red light will start to blink.
*You may not be able to eject the CD out
*Your PS3 wont work
*Only way to fix is to pay 200 dollars and exchange your PS3 in a Sony shop.
However, a technichian found a way to fix it by opening the PS3 inside and taking out all it's components, and first overheating them for 10 mins. with a hair dryer then cooling it with fans.
Anybody encountered this problem?

It hasn't happened to me, and I've had mine since November 2007.

my 60gb died three weeks after it's second birthday i got it at launch March 25th, 2007 *sob* but it was alright though at Game they let you take insurance out for 3years for £20 and they'll replace it if unfixable.
they sent it away and i got the same 60gb back in a weeks time so i backed up all the data, because i knew that the problem is in the long run unfixable. When it overheated again they took it away and gave me £350 for a nice new 80Gb since the 60 had been discontinued and even refunded me for the game stuck inside the console.

One Solution-
Buy an Xbox-360.
I could help you if it was an xbox-360, but I know nothing about ps3, just that is stinks

And pay for XBOX every month?
XBOX also has a Red light of death.
Microsoft tried to match the supreme power of Sony in console but they will never make it haha!
Anyway, this may also happen in slim versions idk

From my knowledge the 360 came out first so it didn't really try to match it. When a console first comes out you're the guinea pigs. You play them, you test them, If there are errors or faults you send them back, they log them and work on them. Thats why its always better to wait until they've been out at least 6 months.

XBOX got the idea from PS2.
And guniea pigs? We test them ?
LOLOLOL
PS3 games come out AFTER PC and XBOX, roughly after months!

Why'd you think all the first consoles to come out are riddled with faults? How'd you think they work on those faults? I've been there, done that.

We are the pigs that things get tested on, how'd you think improvements are made? Things get sent back because of faults, because they need checking out, this all happens within the first three months of it being released.

If they didn't do that they wouldn't improve or fix faulty hardware and people would eventually turn to other places for consoles because sony/microsoft would be unreliable. Its common sense.

I still don't get your idea.
XBOX games come before PS3, how come PS3 gamers test it ?

Not games, the console itself. The games are usually perfectly fine, its the console faults

PS3's system is more complex. And complex systems are better. It is like comparing a MS-DOS with a Linux Obronto.
BUt I don't mean XBOX is old as MSDOS and PS3 is new as Obronto lol

original Xbox 360's on average 20% where faulty, compared to the 5% of original PS3's. 5% being within regular product fault limits of any electronic devices.

50 dollars a year isn't per month. It's not like Microsoft sits on their asses with the money they get. They use it to improve the service they provide. And the red rings of death is pretty much extinct now. That is old news. You're complaining about getting your yellow lights of death, but then you make fun of the 360 for having RROD. Doesn't make sense.

As much as I don't like the Xbox, I have to agree with you.

the red light of death was on a much larger scale and took longer to fix compared to Yellow light of death, which i mentioned before. They both have their faults but Xbox got it the worst.

RROD doesn't take long to fix. It takes Microsoft two weeks to send you a new console. Lol. Not long at all.

Two weeks ? Lolololol
It took my 5 days to get a new PS3 from Sony, it was sent to Europe from Istanbul, you know that's far away.

Two weeks? My BluRay drive died on my PS3 under warranty and I had it back in a week. If you count them sending me the box it took 2 weeks. But it played games just fine, not movies though.

Microsoft put their whatever you call it in Texas for the U.S. UPS likes to take their time.

Microsoft has you print the shipping label online and then you just mail them your console. It takes not long at all because they don't have to send a box.

Isn't Turkey in Europe and also trying to get into the EU? :P

Well still Turkey is at the edge of Europe so it is far from central Europe lol.
And nobody in turkey wishes to go in EU anymore, only our over-religious gaylord Prime Minister does. EU is half dead IMO

I doubt the EU is doing nothing more than gaining power and Turkey will more than likely join eventually, but that is for a differant thread...

Yeah but, you know EU spends half of it's money to Greece.

Hardly every single Hardware specification between both consoles is completly differant. the PS3 took longer to design due to the PS2's success Sony had the financial resources to spare enabling them to push for something much more technically advanced and needed to be able to fully optimise the funtions of Blu-ray to hold the excess amounts of data. This lead to the year differance between the 360 and PS3

Why should Sony have copied XBOX? Before XBOX there was a PS
