There are four questions in this thread: who is your ISP, where do you live, do you like them and what's your internet speed? You can test your speed here, don't tell me what speed you're paying for. (http://www.speedtest.net/)

I have Comcast (). I actually think they're pretty okay, I haven't had any problems with them. As of right now, my download speed is 30.91 megabits/second, which is about 10 mb/s faster than the last time I checked a month or two ago. I have NO IDEA WHY. Upload speed is 2.86 mb/s, which is normal.

Edit: my location is Houston, Texas

Edit edit: SpeedTest has a forum image code, which is useful, so here's mine:

ISP: Virgin Media
Location: United Kingdom
Do i like them: Not a chance, they're the shittiest one available.
Speed:
- Upload speed is 0.47mb/s LOL.
- Download speed is 15.30mb/s

Overall? Virgin media is terrible, don't go to them.

My ISP is Quest, and they suck totally. Just look at those speeds. That, and if you're lucky, a download will hit 100 kb/s, and sometimes it goes down to something crazy like 5 kb/s. It took me three and a freaking half hours to download a 2.6 gig file(EVE Online). I'd even prefer comcast to quest... oh, and I'm in Colorado springs, CO

Insight Communications. Pretty good service, upload speed is shit though. On uTorrent I can get a steady 1MB download on something like a Linux OS. They also offer good TV service, which we also have.

This is utter bullshit!

I am paying for Watanyia Telecom

I live in Kuwait.

AND I AM PAYING 13 KD($ 45.30)A MONTH!!! YOU THINK I LIKE THIS SHIT! Guess what?
A 10 GB LIMIT! OR ELSE THEY WILL CAP YOUR FUJin INTERNET TO 128 KiloFujen Bit!
Sorry, the last month was a rough one.

It is a wireless, Mobile 3G connection - which picks up EDGE, GPRS, UMTS/HSPA. I think that's why it is expensive. You can shove this to a cellphone or to a laptop, you will get the same stuff. I am using a desktop. This is because we don't have a hotline in our building.

And, how come I got the highest Ping? Actually, what is a Ping?

I've been having trouble with my download speeds being REALLY slow =\ This might be why. Usually when I do these things my server is a bit closer.

I have DSL

Ping is the time for a message to go from your home to a server and back. It is a measure of latency. The higher the ping, the worse the connection.

It is quite normal to have higher ping times with a 3D/HSDPA/UMTS connection than with DSL/Cable - it is inherent to the technology used.

Great... more bullshit from this ISP.

Maybe I need to switch to cable connections. There is this 2 Mbitps speed for the same price, but we don't have hotline around unfortunately.

I am going to celebrate that my Upload and Download speed are almost the same. And I fail to see the significance in anyway.

3 hours... you should be grateful.

Upload isn't that bad. It's the download that bothers me.

Yeah, that's not really a bad time considering the file size.

But I wouldn't know since I don't usually download things bigger than 400MB.
