gym membership?

k ive been searching for a thread like this for a couple of days, and couldnt find anything likr my question, so im sorry if theres one like this....

k this morning i got a gym membership and my mom said it would be good for me, then she mentioned i would have to shower and get changed in the locker room. im a little concerned because the gym im going to go to has a lot of older men. (20-60) and im a little concerned about showering or changing infront of the, tips or methods of showering at the gym? please help.

You don't have to take a shower at the gym. You can just wait and take a shower back at your house.

Yeah you could just wait till ya get home. But if you absolutely have to take a shower at the gym just try to find an isolated locker, ignore everyone else, maybe find a shower in a corner (or if your gym has stalls it's even better) and get out as quickly as possible. If the showers are just lined up on the wall, like mine, maybe wait till the one at the end is open. I was nervous the first time I had to shower at the gym but after a few times I got used to it. Always remember people at the gym are there for a reason (getting stronger, healthier, etc.) and most of 'em are trying to get outta the locker rooms pretty quickly and go home. But anyway the key is just to ignore everything else and get out as quickly as possible. Good luck!

You dont have to shower at the gym but still the guys won't care if your naked and once you do it a couple times it will become routine and you will no longer care

You don't have to shower at the gym. If you mum wants you to though you could always wear swim shorts or as others have said find a quiet part.

My tip is to go to the gym, and just sortif stand near to the showers when in the changing rooms before you go in. So like where you put you're clothes (if you can) and just watch how the other guys all go in. Maybe wait untill it's empty, then go in, because if you see how plainly all the other guys do it, maybe it'll make you happier. Or you can wait for someone around your age, not pervy or anything, but go in at the same time as them...

Remember it'll be steamy, so not much to see! XD

Bro, you don't have to do anything at the gym. I have a membership to golds, I go in my gym cloths, come home sweaty and smelly and take a shower at home. I wouldn't use the locker room at a gym if I didn't have to.

I only asked this because after the gym I got to drama, ( hence dramakid :P) and I don't wanna smell infrint of all the ladiesss ;) lol. But I think I'll be fine thanks for the advice :)

At my boxing gym it was kind of awkward at first, but then it just becomes part of your routine.

check out the lockers, get a feel of the people there, im sure you will see that no one will care if your naked.

but if your really shy about it, then just shower at home.

You can shower at home, but it really isn't a big deal. If it's a communal shower, just do your thing and don't look or think about other stuff too much.

i dont think anyone is going ot care , but hey i guess everyone is different. i was talking to my dad nad he said when he was in jr high and high school you had to shower every day after gym and the shower room was just a big open space. no one cared about other guys being naked you all had to be. as far as older guys i dont think they would care unless they are pervs and then they should be reported to the management of the gym and kicked out

i belong to a local gym which teach judo. guys 11 and under lesson on different nights then guy 12+ ---- wednesday and thursday r 4 12 and up.
the oldest is in his 60's we r share the same locker space and
showers. no big deal to take shower with older guys. really never thought 2 much of it. late night the pool is for our use only. 1/2 wear their birthday suits. birthday suit for me. :cool::)

Look at it this way you may only see these people once so why care what they think. Plus most them guys were in the same situation when they were younger. Or yoy could just take a shower at home :D
