I fail to see this as proof that all pop is the same.
Good point. Bad evidence.

Title was just to get your attention.... sheesh.

That is NOT proof. That is a really cool but really edited mashup.

What part of "attractive title" did you not understand?

I mean, it sort of does prove a lot, in that it's absurd that the entire top 25 can even be mashed up at all without sounding horrible. The point this makes is that much of the most popular pop music is based off of the same kind of Western roots and rhythms and really isn't very often particularly innovative.

Nothing I said deserves a bitchy statement like that. Get over it.

Those songs went through a lot of mixing and a lot of those rhythms have been changed; it's not like they all fit together. If they do, that's not really surprising. Most of all music is in common time, especially pop music.
For some of the songs, they've obviously been modified so they're in the same key signature, or moved around so the part of the song that's being used is within the key of the mash-up.

There's good pop out there. You shouldn't just completely hate a genre. Like rap. There's PLENTY o' good rap out there. Some you might like.

I didn't even really mind pop music until the auto-tune trend. Because that really does make it all sound the same, and it takes away the requirement for actual musical talent.

You do realize that auto-tune doesn't work for everyone? You have to have some talent there it all it does is correct your pitch but if you don't have a good voice you're going to sound shit with or without it(kinda like kanye west).
