That bill will fundamentally change nothing - it is merely a symptom of a degraded perception over immigrants.

You cannot really prevent or regulate illegal immigration by issuing laws tightening borders. On the other hand, studying causes of immigration and working on them is much more effective.

And, actually, the real problem is not immigration per se - it is the issue of cultural and social integration; in short, it is the openness of the society that is the central issue. SB1070 only demonstrates that the social structures is not open enough to adapt to the situation.
