You feel pathetic and useless because you're telling yourself you're pathetic and useless. Even saying to yourself that you matter in this world could raise your self-esteem by a little bit.
Obviously if you're scared then you should try to stop, this isn't the thing for you if you're scaring yourself. Everyone has stress and anger, it's a part of life. I understand stress, I'm through SO MUCH of it. You feel like the person causing this stress is doing it intentionally just to annoy you, if I'm correct.
Dealing with stress has been scientifically tested by psychologists and various different people study it for their occupation. There's many techniques that you can look through the internet. They don't sound like they work until you've tried it, trust me my friend.
You know the 'relief' shall I say you feel after you cut? Well that is a horrible way to deal with problems, and these activities give you the same relief feeling, though even more relieving and less harmful to yourself. Don't doubt them until you've tried them.
Screaming in a pillow until you lose your voice, (make sure to drink water though)
Exercise- VERY affective. Especially running.
Do something that requires a lot of concentration to keep your mind off of things, like playing a game or talking to a friend. Try to avoid TV and reading, they keep the mind unoccupied and open to bringing back things you may not want to think about.
Sleeping- also STRONGLY affective, sleeping can overcome any emotion.
Good luck!

First of all, i know you've probably heard this loads of times, but 5 weeks is really good.
But dont beat yourself up about this, it will only make things worse, I used to 'punish' myself if i gave up after 3 or 4 weeks and you get stuck in a cirlce, just keep cutting yourself becuase you feel as though you've failed.
Your not pathetic my any means, Sh is never as easy thing to deal with and as you know, puts alot of pressure and stress on you.
A Luke suggested try and do something that keep your mind off it, anything to keep you distracted.
But remember you are by no means pathetic, we're all here to help you
PM me if you want to talk
