Well, my current psychologist speciallizes in DBT and teenagers who self-harm. That's why my mom contacted her. But, the thing is that what I want to talk about, is my alter-ego. She was quite fine with it at first. But Rith surfaced during yesterday's session, and according to my mother, Rith had freaked out when she had the psychologist calling her by her name. Then the psychologist freaked out. Now my alter-ego thinks my psychologist is psycho, and my psychologist is really worried about me.
I just think, maybe someone who has experience with either DID or Schizophrenia might be a little better for me, just cause they would understand a little better about the multiple personas in my mind. I don't know, lol.

well who knows, maybe if you tried sticking with one psychologist for a long period of time they would begin to understand you better. like a friend. if you have been friends with them for 2 years vs 2 weeks, which friend knows you better? does that make sense?

In order for therapy to be successful, one must be able to feel comfortable around the professional person on all levels. Sure, trust takes time to build, but usually one knows when they don't 'click' with another person during conversation. That's not to say they're not a nice person who cares and wants to help, but they're not the right one for you, and that's okay. Most of those with experience getting professional help, myself included, have gone through a number of professionals and treatment plans before coming across one that suited them well enough to make the necessary difference.
I would encourage you to keep searching. As for the person you are seeing right now, I'm sure she will understand, maybe even try to help you with it.
Best of luck. :hug3:
