that sounds good, but obesity could also run in your family genes.

im 6'2'' 145lbs.
i have a very fast motabolizm *sp?*. But im always in sports so... i also keep in good shape with that. if your over weight... look into track/field or football. in track you can throw shotput and discus. and in football you can be an offensive or defensive lineman. both sports get you into good shape.

if you wanted to get skinnier, then you should look into cardio. that would be running, swimming, biking, rowing, dancing, anything that is active and really gets the heart rate up. i try to stay fit but i also work out alot so im not "skinny". i eat alot and stay buff, like its not as easy to see my abs w/o flexing but you can easily see biceps, pectorals and shoulders. i swim all year, i work out, i eat healthy(usually), im 14: 5' 11" (a guy) and 162lbs. but i also like to have fun and everything so i dont do everything healthy, i eat like crap sometimes or engage in not-so-safe things healthwise. but yea, u dont have to go to a gym or a club. you can run outside, you can either buy weights, if ur school has a weight room go there OR, alot of military groups dont even use weights. they use their own bodies as weights, so you can do pushups, situps and if this interests you ask me and i can tell you many more exercises to strengthen ur body w/o using weights and just using ur body. but start w/ some cardio and eating more healthy, eating less if u think u eat too much but dont quit eating cus you need that if ur gonna be strong...i eat a ton
and not to argue or anything, but barelythere, i just read something that said, if ur an athlete carbs arent as bad as they're said to be. true, if u dont do anything and eat lots of them you'll be fat but they are required by athletes for energy but you just need to eat the right ones

If i was you i wouldnt bother with wasting your money on a gjm, start road running, if you live near countryside its fantastic but if you dont you can always find the right time of day or right places to run. Work at your own pace but always try and do a bit more, push yourself but not to far that you have a dizzy spell, i know what thats like it ain gd. It might be an idea if you find someone to run with, he/she will keep you motivated and keen, me and my running partner run atleast once a week together, it is quite a gd excuse to see each other aswell.

billy, lol im not gunna argue, everyone is entitled to there say, and im not reli that type, got enough arguing to deal with at hme :P anyways, carbs, i no there good for athletes, but i didnt no if the thread started was trying to b an athlete or just lose sme weight :P i was just saying anyways, i dnt like carbs much so i dont eat many, i have a real hang up with them, dunno why, anyhoo u said there are different types of carbs? different types? i didnt no that, i just thought carbs were carbs lol so waht are the different kind? which ones are worse? thanks cya xx

neither are worse if u use them correctly. there are complex carbs and simple carbs. complex carbs are like natural, like whole grain pasta, cereal that's not loaded w/ sugar. they take a while to digest hence athelets "carbo loading" a night before an event so the energy hits them for the next day. Simple carbs are refined (not natural) and the most popular would be sugar, others would be in fruit (i know fruit's natural but its just how it is, fruits have alot of natural sugar in them). athletes might have some simple carbs before and event because the energy hits them very quickly. complex carbs can be things like bagels or pasta, but if you arent very active you can still eat them w/o becoming fat if you eat whole grains. but honestly i hate whole grain pasta and bagels, so i dont eat tons of bagels. remember, a regular plain bagel that most people have counts as 5 servings of bread for that day so just factor that in to not eating lots of bready stuff. i like bread type stuff, but not lots just because the taste gets boring after a while. my favorite foods are red meat and fruit

I cycle almost 10 miles every day (monday to saturday). I used to juat eat when i came home from school but ive cut that out now, and sometimes i have veg with my dinner, not often enough, but you should have some veg with most meals. Im not fat, or over-weight, but my stomache sorta makes me look kinda fat. Will stomache excersizes help this?
p.s. do you think general hospital is a better place for this.. or one of the mental forums.
