What are the prerequisites and requirements to become a staffmember? Can you apply, or is it more of a wait around to be plucked situation?

you have to be chosen and supported by the people.

basically u wait until a postion becomes available and people are asked to apply, or you mite be picked to do something.

Both. Sometimes mods are added when they show maturity and knowlege in a specific subject, and sometimes a position is posted and people reply.
