Yes, technically it is illegal for minors, it falls under child pornography; although if it is between two teens the same age, they are not going to send you to prison, probably a slap on the hand. You only have to worry if her / his parents see, and if they are up tight enough to call the cops. My suggestion is to make sure you phone, and her / his phone is locked, you should be okay.

people have been arrested for it actually, because if your caught and someone gets the cops involved you can be charged with distribution of child porn, and if you have it on your phone you can be charged with having child porn

Well like many other questions of legality it probably depends where you live. There have been cases brought agains minors on child porn laws in the USA.

It's definitely something that is being enforced more; however, I don't know how true that is -although I'm not doubting it- The cases in the media have been on a much bigger scale of the after effects of a girl -although it DOESN'T have to be female- picture was spread through school, causing the victim to take further actions upon herself. This is just one case and I'm sure there's A LOT more. Cases are difficult to prove and parents want justice but it's very hard. Around here, it's mainly just an agreement that the picture is removed so it's easier for law enforcement and such. There was a huge write up in the paper last year and that's pretty much how it works around here. It may become a problem if a victim is threatened or does do something more extensive where officials feel that an example is needed and pursue the source. Just be aware that is illegal, being underage and COULD result in a felony. The law is tricky and always being bent and skewed.

Sending nude, revealing or sexually suggestive texts of yourself to people. If your under 18 then technically yes it is child porn, and you can get in a lot of shit for it especially if you are caught in possesion of it:eek:

see, I always thought that it was only illegal if you show it to someone significantly older than you and if you show others without permission from the sender..who knows.. :rolleyes:

its child pornography but if its between 2 people you wont get in much trouble but if the photo is able to spread to other then there is a probable chance you can get in way deeper trouble than what you would want
