Does anyone else have those days, (especially when you work out/ exercise in the morning) where you eat a lot, and then fall asleep?

This happens to me most of the time. I wake up early in the morning and run 5 miles and then I come home, eat a lot, and then fall asleep. I feel like this is a problem or something, why do I do this? Am I unhealthy?

Nope, just your body getting tired. When you run like that, and you didn't eat before, your body uses it's energy reserves; when you get home, your body wants allot of food to fill back up your energy reserves, and then you sleep because you are physically tired, and it is the fastest way to digest the food. This is not the best way to exercise because your body over reacts with the food; try waking up, eating, waiting about a half hour, and then run. You may find that you are less tired and hungry after the run. :)

Hope this helps.

It's exhaustion, when you run especially for the distance you say you run is quite the strain. So when you get back after burning calories like that and then consume more at a rapid pace and you're relaxing afterward it's perfectly fine to sleep. It's just your body is tired and needs recuperation. Well what I would recommend is maybe putting your portions of food on a smaller plate (It's psychological) that way you "think you're eating more" than you actually are. Or if you think it would be easier just do as the OP said above and eat before you run and wait as if you run on a full belly you could get cramps.
Good luck and I hope this helps.
