Why do guys always have boners in the morning?

Erections occur when we wake up because the body has multiple erections at night during a certain phase of sleep, and this phase goes until we wake up, and if you wake up when your body wants to rather than with an alarm, then the body will still be in that phase, meaning that it is more likely that you will have an erection upon waking up.

I may not be exactly right, but I think this is more or less how it works.

I am not 100% sure, but I am pretty sure the first person to reply is right about how the body is going through a phase until you wake up which leads to the boner.

i might be really really wrong here, but i think its something to do with the weight of your bladder (which fills overnight) pushing on some gland which controls boners, so ur hard when you wake up.

im not sure but i think its because you need to urinate and you hold it in while you sleep so you get a boner when you need to go

its morning wood...just about everybody gets them and theyre usually because you need to pee.

You get many spontaneous erections during your sleep. I'm guessing the one you wake up with, is basically one of them :)

Yes, this is called morning glory or morning wood. I have put a few posts up there on the cause but just about every guy who does not a have a physical erectile dysfunction has morning glory or morning wood every time they wake up. :D
