One thing i hate is when people running for office of some sort here in the US are asked controversial questions that should be their own business. Like on the topic of abortion, gay marriage, god. In britain, they have a fantastic government system (as far as i know) and when they run, they are never asked these questions. What do you think? should these questions be asked?
thank you for taking the survey

Abortion and gay marriage are, unfortunately, political issues. Whether a politician believes in God I couldn't care less about, but the other two are issues that the government needs to deal with. I'm sure a gay rights acitivst would be interested to know what politicians support gay rights. When there are laws about issues, they're not personal anymore.

the voters have a right to know who they are voting for but should only be asked about things that are political

The British system of coalition government is flawed. The 2 parties involved (Conservatives and Liberal Democrats) have major differences in terms of Europe, Iraq and the economy, and yet these issues are ignored. I would rather have a system of politics where there is no taboo subjects.
