Money, DVDs, video games and some books.
I didn't make a fuss out of my 16th birthday. Can't see why so many people do. The American obsession with it is creeping over to the UK, just like fast food restuarants and prom nights already have!

I didn't have a big party for it because I don't understand the hype in it. My 18th birthday I did a lot more because that one has obvious significance. For my 16th birthday though, I did the usual: go to a big buffet with some friends and parents, get gifts (money, clothes, CDs, etc...), and watch a movie at home with snacks.

I stopped asking for stuff a long time ago and appreciated what I got without asking. I got my first tattoo when I turned 18, that's the Maine law; although, I have a friend who traveled when he was 16 to get a tattoo -like I'm the sure the requirement is in West Virginia- Just assure yourself that it's the tattoo you want on your body for the rest of your life, it's there forever. Don't get one for the sake of getting one :)

My parents didn't get me a thing, so I went out and got myself something. It wasn't all that big, but just a few video games and to hang with some friends it made me happy. Gifts never were a main concern with me.

Electronic drum kit. Seriously, I was really wanting one. I honestly feel a tad guilty about it, seeing as how it's way over 5,000 bucks (I think the estimated value is about 8,500 or so). I mean, I didn't want the entire day to be a big deal. Just like any other birthday, spend it with my family. That's all I ever want.
