is this a good friend?

Ok so my best friend came to my house for a week this summer and met all my friends and we became even closer and really bonded. A few days later we were talking on skype and all of the sudden he flipped out on me calling me a pansy, and a loser, dick and other stuff, i tried to talk to him but he would answer my calls texts, and he said stuff about me to my friends that he just met. He told them he hated me. (Over the past year he got mad at me for no reason sometimes and treated me badly sometimes). I didn't talk to him and felt terrible So two weeks later he tells me it was a joke, and i got really pissed and ignored him for a few days. We finally talked and i told him that i thought he really was mad at me for a few days but he said no, and got mad cause i called him a liar. We then got in a big fight but we finally made up. I'm just wondering if you find the joke he did funny or not and if its something a real friend would do...?

I go with if you have to ask if he is a good friend then he is not.

Even if that wasn't a joke (which it really it doesn't sound like or else that would be an really elaborate joke to play on your friend) it is still pretty messed up to do that to your friend.

In all honest he sounds like a jerk and i wouldn't hang out with him

If he really were a good friend he wouldn't do things like that to you. If you really want to stay friends with him, try ignoring him for a while, if not dump him. There are plenty more guys out there you can make friends with.

start to ignore him.
if he will realize about your friendship then he will come otherwise

A good friend wouldn't do something like that. I've never said anything like to my friends, especially for no reason....
