You never HAVE to get armpit hair. You may just not be a really hairy guy.

It's normal, if i remember correcly you could be up to 20 before they grow. Just give it time :)

it could be your genes and stuff... usually is. late bloomers are just that awesome of a people to be that awesomely different. :) everythings fine and you will eventually start growing some hair. if not then that just means that your not going to be a hairy, scary guy. :D

I'm 17 too, and I didn't start getting any until 16. I don't have it very thick either, my BF is at the same stage, maybe a little behind me in puberty, but he has a full bush or armpit hair. It just depends on your heredity, some people don't have it thick if at all. Nothing to worry about. :D

same here. im almost 18 and i have a little bit of underarm hair but not nearly enough. i really want more. im kinda embarrased about the amount i have compared to everyone else. including my friends.

Everyone's Body grows at different rates. Some might grow hair first and some might grow later. Puberty usually lasts 4-5 years depending how your body grows. Dont worry if you still dont have hair Your body is still changing so not having hair at 17 is totally normal.

Personally I would prefer to have some under arm hair but I prefer the look of just a bit----not lots. Just my preference. Same with snail trails-I have friends who shave theirs to make it look decent.... Anyway, as everyone has already said it will come........just wait a bit longer:)
